The signing ceremony, held at the DSE premises, was attended by senior management and officials from both the companies.
The partnership between DSE and ESG Institute Bangladesh seeks to establish a robust framework for ESG integration in Bangladesh’s financial ecosystem. Through the multinational channels, certifications and platforms connected to 4 continents and 7 countries ESG Institute operates in, this MoU aims to enhance corporate transparency, sustainability reporting, and responsible investment practices for publicly listed businesses in Bangladesh.
With due processes and several planned upcoming initiatives, this collaboration aims to help position Bangladesh as a regional leader in ESG and Sustainability, attracting both local and international investors & clients who are increasingly prioritizing ESG-aligned investment opportunities.
Under this MoU, the two organizations have discussed theire scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
- Promoting ESG Reporting Standards: Encouraging listed companies to adopt globally recognized ESG frameworks, enhancing their accountability, transparency, and sustainability performance.
- Capacity-Building Initiatives: Organizing workshops, training programs, and certification courses to empower companies with the knowledge and tools needed for effective ESG integration.
- Developing ESG Indices: Exploring the potential for developing specialized ESG indices that would highlight and reward high-performing companies in sustainability metrics.
- Fostering Responsible Investment: Creating awareness among investors about the importance of ESG considerations and promoting the integration of ESG factors into investment decision-making processes.
Joining the inaugural ceremony to sign and discuss potential of ESG leadership in Bangladesh were A.G.M Sattique Ahmed Shah , Acting Managing Director & CFO of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC., Sadia Samira, Chairman, ESG Institute Bangladesh, Samiul Islam, Senior General Manager, Market Development Division, DSE PLC., Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director, ESG Institute Bangladesh among others from both the organizations.
